Residents of 2 Aleppo districts told to evacuate by Syrian army

The Military Operations Council of the Syrian army has declared that all Kurdish positions in Aleppo are considered legitimate targets.

This morning, a cautious calm has prevailed in Aleppo, with occasional gunfire reported, the local Armenian weekly Gandzasar writes.

“All Kurdish military positions in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh districts are our legitimate targets, as they endanger the districts of Aleppo and cause the killing of civilians. We urge residents of these areas to leave the conflict zones and move to safer locations,” the army statement said.

Two evacuation checkpoints have been established in the districts at areas called Awaret and Shareh Zhour. Residents have been instructed to leave the districts by 3:00 p.m.
