
Ceasefire declared in Aleppo
The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced overnight that a ceasefire has been established in Aleppo, where there were clashes between government and Kurdish forces, Interfax.ru reports.
“To prevent further escalation in residential neighborhoods, the Ministry of Defense declares a ceasefire near Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud, Ashrafiyeh, and Bani Zaid districts, effective from 3:00 a.m.,” the statement read.
The statement notes that Kurdish armed groups have until 9:00 a.m. on Friday to vacate the specified areas.
