Lukashenko says Maduro’s abduction betrayal’s result
The abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was the result of betrayal and a criminal conspiracy, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said, according to the BelTA news agency.
Lukashenko stated that both civilians and military personnel had been paid to ensure the success of the operation.
“I want you to understand: everything was in place. There was an agreement, money was paid — including to Venezuelan citizens, both military and civilians. It was betrayal,” Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian president also provided additional details, noting that Maduro’s wife had been offered the option to remain in the country, but she refused.
