Israel plans to resume military operations in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have drawn up plans to resume intensive military operations in the Gaza Strip in March, aiming to push the frontline westward, according to an anonymous Israeli official and an Arab diplomat cited by The Times of Israel.

The Arab diplomat noted that the operation cannot proceed without US support, as Washington is still working to move the fragile ceasefire agreed in October into a second phase.

Although Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu agreed last month with US President Trump to cooperate on implementing the ceasefire terms, he reportedly does not believe disarming Hamas will succeed. Given this, he has instructed the IDF to prepare for various scenarios.
