Syria declares Aleppo’s east a closed military zone
The eastern part of Aleppo, near the city of Dayr Hafir, has been declared a closed military zone due to the buildup of Kurdish armed groups there. This was stated in a statement by the operational headquarters of the Syrian army, RIA Novosti reports.
The Syrian military command has called on all armed units present in the designated zone to withdraw east of the Euphrates River.
“The Syrian army will take all necessary measures to prevent armed groups from using this area as a platform for their criminal activities,” the statement said.
