Iran’s ambassador says people in Armenia chant insulting slogans outside embassy

A group of people has been gathering outside Iran’s embassy in Armenia for the past six days, shouting offensive and obscene slogans, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Khalil Shirgholami said at a press conference on Tuesday.

“Despite the fact that we have consistently voiced our protest, this continues,” the ambassador said. “We have always stood by Armenia. We are going through a difficult period today, and what is happening outside our embassy will remain in the historical memory of the Iranian people. I believe I have made myself very clear.”
