Bulgaria’s president to resign

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has announced his intention to resign.

“Tomorrow I will resign from the post of president of the Republic of Bulgaria. I would like to note that over the nine years in office as president and vice president, we have demonstrated that we are capable of working effectively and in harmony,” he said in a message addressed to the public.

The Bulgarian president also confirmed that Vice President Iliyana Yotova will assume the duties of head of state.
