NATO limits US access to intelligence over Greenland threats
NATO countries are refusing to share intelligence with the United States due to President Trump’s statements regarding Greenland, the British newspaper The i Paper reports, citing sources. According to the sources, alliance representatives are no longer communicating openly with their American counterparts. This is driven by concerns that the information could reach Trump and be used in a possible future attempt to militarily seize the semi-autonomous Danish territory.
A British intelligence source claims that the United Kingdom intends to double its efforts and strengthen its defense partnership with EU countries. This decision comes during what is described as the worst period in London–Washington relations since the 1950s, following Trump’s threats against Denmark.
British PM Keir Starmer plans to collaborate with NATO allies to convince US President Donald Trump that Europe is capable of defending the Arctic, in an effort to dissuade him from attempting to acquire Greenland.
