Trump and Aliyev praise each other in official correspondence

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter to US President Donald Trump, thanking him for the invitation to become a founding member of the Peace Council.

“I accept this invitation as a symbol of the mutually respectful and mutually beneficial partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States of America, and as recognition of Azerbaijan’s role in promoting peace and stability at both regional and global levels,” Aliyev wrote. He also expressed gratitude to Trump for his efforts to strengthen peace.

In response, Trump wrote: “It is a great honor for me to invite you, the President of Azerbaijan, to join my historic and remarkable initiative to strengthen peace in the Middle East and to embark on this bold new approach to resolving global conflicts.”

According to Trump, the Peace Council will be the most impressive and influential council ever created, serving as a new international organization and transitional body.

“Our efforts will help unite a select group of countries ready to support the noble mission of establishing lasting peace—an honor reserved for those who demonstrate leadership and make significant contributions to the safety and prosperity of future generations. We look forward to meeting soon with our wonderful and dedicated partners, many of whom are highly respected global leaders,” Trump added.
