Macron says Trump administration seeks to divide EU

Europe is currently dealing with a US administration that is “openly anti-European,” “disregards” the European Union, and “wants to see it divided,” French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview with European media.

“On the trade front, we are facing a Chinese tsunami, while from the American side, there is constant instability. These two crises are profoundly shaking Europeans. I wanted to emphasize that when some relief comes after the peak of a crisis, we must not lower our guard, thinking that everything is over for good. That is not the case, because we are now living through a period of permanent instability,” Macron stated.
