Iran’s foreign ministry says South Caucasus important for Iran

The South Caucasus region is important for Iran, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said during a press briefing.

He highlighted the significance of Iran’s defense minister’s visit to Baku and the security consultations held there.

“This region is of great importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran. We view peace and stability there as a form of our own peace and stability. This visit follows an earlier trip to Baku by Foreign Minister Araghchi,” he said.
