French Senate discusses supplying Armenia with weapons and calls for CAESAR artillery system supply

During the 2021 military budget discussions, the French
Senate Defense Committee discussed Armenia’s order for three GM200 radars
manufactured by Thales Group and the supply of Mistral surface-to-air missiles.

Reference was also made to the supply of 24 units of Bastion
armored personnel carriers manufactured by Arquus, and another 26 units that
are currently in the process of production.

The meeting also discussed the war in Ukraine, and drawing
parallels, highlighted the importance of providing Armenia with “defensive”
weapons.

“Let us not repeat the same mistake, regarding the late
delivery of the equipment that is of prime importance. That is why we should
respond quickly to the requests of the Armenian authorities. This particularly
regards the need for artillery units. The speakers recommend that the supply of
the CAESAR artillery system be considered as soon as possible,” the meeting
said.
