The Armenian Church of St. Mary the Virgin in the city of
Södertälje in Sweden has been looted and vandalized, the Swedish media reports.
Materially and spiritually valuable pieces have been stolen.
“This was rather unexpected, especially before Christmas.
The community members are now standing in front of an empty altar,” the church
representative said.
The police have launched an investigation into theft.
Members of the Armenian community are sure this is not just
a theft; the church has been targeted to terrorize the community.
