Blinken: The U.S. will continue to rally countries around the world to support Ukraine and to exert pressure on Russia
Sweden will soon join NATO, increasing the potency of the
alliance. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this in his year-end
press conference at the State Department.
According to Blinken, the alliance has become even broader
and stronger in 2023.
“This year, we added our 31st member of NATO –
Finland. And Sweden will join soon, bringing even greater potency and
capability to our defensive alliance,” Blinken said.
He also noted that Russia has become weaker militarily,
economically and diplomatically. According to him, the U.S. will continue to
rally countries around the world to support Ukraine and to exert pressure on
Russia.
