
Pezeshkian tells Aliyev Nakhijevan incident will be investigated
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian held a phone call with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev on March 8.
Pezeshkian thanked Aliyev for visiting the Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, expressing condolences over the deaths of Supreme Leader Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei and many civilians, and for the intention to provide humanitarian assistance to Iran.
Noting that the aerial shelling of Nakhijevan has no connection with Iran, Pezeshkian stressed that the incident will be investigated.
Aliyev once again expressed condolences over the deaths of many civilians during the recent events in Iran.
The Azerbaijani president also emphasized the importance of investigating the incident that took place in Nakhijevan.
