22,185 killed, 57,035 injured; Situation in Gaza still unstable

From Jan. 1 to Jan. 2, 207 Palestinians were killed, 338 were injured, the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports, citing the Gaza Health Ministry.

The total number of Palestinians killed between Oct. 7 and Jan. 2 is 22,185.

According to OCHA, about 70% of the victims are women and children.

The number of Palestinians injured in the same period stands at 57,035.

Up to 7,000 people are unaccounted for; many are supposedly beneath the rubble.
