Peskov: The U.S.-centric world order is coming to an end
Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov
forecast the end of the U.S.-centric world order and the beginning of an era of
diversity, TASS reports.
“The U.S.-centric world order is coming to an end, and a
period of diversity is beginning. This refers to international economic
relations as well,” he said.
“The U.S. economy is the largest economy, but not the only
one, and the global economy is not limited to the U.S. economy,” Peskov said.
He noted there is an economy that is catching up with the
U.S., i.e. China; there are developing economies, having their demands for
energy resources, and finally, the world is much more diverse than the U.S..
Earlier, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources
Geoffrey Pyatt told the Financial Times that Washington aims to halve Russia’s
oil and gas revenues by the end of this decade.
