UN: About 1 million people live at emergency levels of starvation, while about 400,000 are already suffering starvation
Of the 2.3 million population of Gaza, 378,000 people are at Phase 5 (catastrophic levels),
according to te Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports.
This is the phase of extreme lack of food, referring to starvation and exhaustion of coping capacities.
As OCHA reports, 939,000 people are at Phase 4, i.e. emergency levels.
