Rubinyan tells Peskov Yerevan has always been free ‘to make its own decisions’

National Assembly Speaker Ruben Rubinyan has said that Yerevan has always known it is free to make its own decisions and will remain so.

Rubinyan made the statement, responding to recent remarks by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov that Armenia is free to decide whether to withdraw from the CSTO.

Addressing Armenia’s relations with Russia, Rubinyan said: “We are extremely sincere on this issue. We are doing nothing to worsen relations; on the contrary, we have done and continue to do everything to maintain neighborly and friendly relations.”

In this context, Rubinyna said that the “unfair and unjustified” restrictions imposed on Armenian businesses do not comply either with the spirit of Armenia-Russia relations or, even more so, with the rules of the EAEU.
