Moldovan foreign minister refused entry into Russia

The new foreign minister of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, has been put on the list of people who are refused entry into Russia, NewsMaker reports.

Referring to this, Popșoi noted that he had been put on the list back in the summer, when he was an MP from the Party of Action and Solidarity. Popșoi said he does not know who drew up the Russian stop list, but assumed that the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Federal Security Service might have a finger in the pie.

“The response of the Kremlin and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to my appointment as foreign minister would be interesting to know. It is their business, and I cannot know what their decision may be. However, by international standards, diplomats, regardless of the differences between countries, try to hold a dialogue and should have the opportunity and the right to do so,” Popșoi said.
