Forest fires not going out in Chile; Death toll reaches 112
The death toll from the forest fires in Valparaiso Region in Chile has reached 112. As RIA Novosti reports, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Public Security Manuel Monsalve said this.
“According to the latest figures, 112 people have died,” Monsalve said to the press.
He noted that only 32 bodies have been identified so far.
President of Chile Gabriel Boric has declared a two-day period of mourning on Feb. 5.
Earlier, Boric declared a state of emergency in Valparaiso Region.
