US and UK make airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen
The U.S.-U.K. coalition carried out airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen, Al Mayadeen reports.
As noted, 11 strikes were made on Al Hudaydah Governorate in the west of Yemen, and four strikes on Saada Governorate in the north of Yemen.
The spokesperson for the Yemeni armed forces announced earlier that on the evening of Feb. 3, the U.S and U.K. troops carried out 48 airstrikes on several regions of Yemen.
The U.S. Central Command reported, in turn, that it made “self-defense strikes” on Feb. 4 and destroyed four anti-ship cruise missiles that were to be launched against ships in the Red Sea.
Throughout the war between Israel and Hamas, the Houthis have been regularly attacking merchant ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, saying the attacks will continue as long as Israel conducts military operations in the Gaza Strip. The U.S. and the U.K. have carried out a number of strikes on Houthi targets; however, their attacks continue.
