Mil Mi-8 helicopter crash early version is known

Breach of flight safety rules could lead to the Mil Mi-8 helicopter crash in Karelia, the representative of the Ministry of Emergency Situations said this to RIA Novosti.

“So far, the most likely version for the Mil Mi-8 helicopter crash is the violation of flight safety rules,” the agency reports.

To remind, on the evening of Feb. 4, contact with the Mil Mi-8 helicopter crew, belonging to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, was lost. Later, it became clear that the helicopter crashed into Lake Onega. Afterward, it was found 11 kilometers from the shore. No information about the crew members have been given yet.

Head of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov says three crew members were on board the helicopter.

The Investigative Committee of Russia brought a criminal case for violation of traffic safety rules and air transport regulations.
