The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has come into effect
today.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant said on Thursday that
the hostage and prisoner exchange ceasefire between Israel and Hamas will be a
brief truce, after which the war will continue for at least two months.
“This will be a brief pause, which will be followed by
intense fighting, and we will pressure the enemy into releasing even more
hostages. Fighting is expected to continue for at least two months,” Haaretz
reports, citing the Israeli defense minister.
To remind, the military wing of Palestinian Hamas, Izz
ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, confirmed that the four-day humanitarian ceasefire
would go into effect on Friday morning, as the Qatari Foreign Ministry had
announced earlier.
“Fifty hostages will be released within four days,” a
representative of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades noted.
