Considering that the Armenian leadership has refused to pay the calculated amount, the CSTO needs to review its budget for the current year, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told RIA Novosti.
Currently, work is being done with the Collective Security Council, but “redistribution of payments” has not been considered.
“With regard to certain parameters, the CSTO Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff have reduced their expenses. If need be, the Secretariat will use the existing reserves. Therefore, the activities will continue as usual,” the ministry said.
Moreover, it was noted that this is not the first time that Yerevan announces its decision to “freeze” its membership and stop the CSTO funding.
