150,000 people evacuated after Typhoon Gaemi makes landfall in China’s southeast 

More than 150,000 people have been evacuated in southeastern China’s Fujian Province after Typhoon Gaemi made landfall on the island, China Central Television (CCTV) reported, citing the local Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters.

“As of 7:00 a.m. (Yerevan time 2:00 a.m.) on July 25, 29,424 people were evacuated from the fishing areas of the coastal zone to the coast,” the headquarters said.

In addition, 3,199 people were evacuated from 733 fishing boats. It is noted that a total of 156,800 people have been evacuated to safe places in the province.

According to the TV channel’s reports, as of 12:00 a.m. on July 25 (8:00 p.m. Yerevan time on July 24), Typhoon Gaemi hit Yilan County in northeastern Taiwan and is expected to approach the coast of Fujian Province on Thursday evening.
