Negotiators on the Gaza issue in Doha yesterday discussed the outstanding issues and the mechanisms for the implementation of the agreement. As the Egyptian Al Qahera News TV channel reports, the negotiations will continue today, Friday.
To remind, the leaders of Egypt, Qatar and the U.S. issued a joint statement on Aug. 9, calling on Israel and Hamas to resume negotiations on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip on Aug. 15 in Doha or Cairo. The mediators also announced their readiness to submit a final draft of the agreement, which is based on the principles put forward by U.S. President Joe Biden and protected by U.N. Security Council Resolution 2735.
