US not interested in engaging in Israel-Iran conflict, says Germany’s foreign ministry

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul stated that he does not expect the United States to become involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran.

“The United States has declared from the beginning that it will not participate in this war,” Wadephul told Deutschlandfunk radio station.

“It is very clear from every statement and action. I do not see any indication that the United States is interested in involvement,” Germany’s foreign minister stated.

He added that every effort should be made to ensure that the conflict does not spread to the entire region.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington had been aware in advance of Israel’s plans to strike Iran.
