Pashinyan listens to Azerbaijani mugham in Turkmenbashi and tours the "Karabakh House" exhibition
On October 8 in Turkmenbashi, Nikol Pashinyan visited a festival showcasing the national dishes and cultures of CIS countries, including Azerbaijan.
At the Azerbaijani pavilion, young khanende performers sang mugham. The pavilion also featured the interior of a so-called 19th-century "Karabakh House," recreated based on an exhibit from the Azerbaijan National Museum of Carpet.
Guests were also shown carpets, kelaghayis, copper, wooden, and ceramic items, as well as the richness of national cuisine and tea traditions.
The issue of presenting the history and cultural heritage of Artsakh remains sensitive for Armenian society, especially following Azerbaijan's occupation of Artsakh and the forcible displacement of its Armenian population. In this context, the presentation of the "Karabakh House" as part of Azerbaijani "national culture" draws particular attention.
Notably, the regular meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State was held in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, these days.
