Baku claims certain forces in friendly and neighboring countries are "attempting to incite ethnic, religious, and political confrontation in Azerbaijan"
Certain forces operating within the territories of friendly and neighboring countries are "attempting to incite confrontation in Azerbaijan on ethnic, religious, and political grounds by spreading disinformation materials through channels that create the illusion of independence."
This was stated in a declaration issued by the Temporary Commission of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) against Foreign Interference and Hybrid Threats.
The statement emphasizes that allegedly, "against the backdrop of Azerbaijan's growing international prestige, its role in ensuring energy security, its strategic importance in regional transit corridors, and its internal political stability, hybrid attacks by foreign entities against the country have expanded."
According to the commission, investigations conducted jointly with relevant state agencies revealed activities aimed at manipulating public opinion, creating societal polarization, and eroding trust in state institutions.
It is reported that these operations are allegedly being carried out through agents of influence, covert organizations, hacker groups, foreign media, fake social media accounts, and bots operating both inside and outside the country.
