Meta, the company that owns Facebook, has decided to block Russian state-owned organizations Russia Today and RT.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to expand our sanctions against Russian state media. Russia Today and other organizations associated with them are now banned from our platforms worldwide for the attempted interference abroad,” Meta said.
The ban will be fully implemented in the next few days.
Besides Facebook, Meta owns WhatsApp Messenger, as well as Instagram and Threads social networks.
