France to increase support for Lebanese army due to Israeli attacks
France will increase support to the Lebanese army in the face of Israeli strikes, and will also allocate €10 million in humanitarian aid to Beirut, French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot said.
“We will step up our support to the army, the guarantor of Lebanon’s internal security and unity,” Barrot said at a press conference held in Beirut and broadcast on the French Foreign Ministry’s X account.
He again called on Israel for a ceasefire.
“I am calling on Israel to refrain from any ground invasion and to establish a ceasefire, and I am calling on Hezbollah to do the same and refrain from any action that could destabilize the region,” the minister said.
