Tehran vows to punish countries that will allow strikes on Iran from their territory
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of the Parliament of Iran, said that Tehran will take retaliatory measures against countries that will allow attacks to be launched on the Islamic Republic from their territories.
“We have repeatedly stated that the air and land areas of neighboring countries should not be used to carry out attacks against our country,” Ghalibaf said in Lebanon in an interview with Al Mayadeen TV channel on Saturday.
According to the official, Iran is convinced that the neighboring countries of the West Asia region realize the seriousness of the issue and will not use their territories against Iran in accordance with their previous commitments.
“We maintain peaceful relations with all the countries in the region. However, if the territory of any third-party country is used for aggression against the Islamic Republic, our response will be harsh and predictable. Any territory from which an attack against Iran will be launched will become the target of our actions. Although we do not seek to expand the war, we will give a strong and adequate response to any attack on our country,” Ghalibaf noted.
He also referred to the rocket attack against Israel on Oct. 1.
“Our response was military, as we targeted exclusively the military, intelligence and security facilities of the Israeli regime,” Ghalibaf explained.
The official added that Iran’s actions comply with international laws and Iran is not afraid of the enemy. He also reaffirmed Iran’s support for the people of Palestine and Lebanon.
