US State Department: The US has never tied the conclusion of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia with COP29

Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller said at a press briefing that the U.S. has never tied the possible conclusion of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan with the COP29 climate conference in Baku.

“We never tied the agreement to COP. We wanted to see a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan months ago and have been pushing for a peace agreement, ultimately hoped to get one over the line. But that’s up to the two parties, not the United States,” Miller said.
