The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan proposes making changes to the agreement on the status of CSTO formations.
The changes imply the improvement of the legal framework for the temporary presence of collective security system forces and assets in the territories of the CSTO member states.
The Kazakh side proposes sending formations to another country only in the event of a threat or execution of an armed attack on one or more states of the organization, as well as to prevent crisis situations, eliminate emergency situations, provide humanitarian aid, conduct joint exercises and surprise inspections.
At the beginning of October, CSTO’s “Indestructible Brotherhood” drills were completed in Kazakhstan.
Military personnel of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan took part in the drills. Armenia refused to participate in them. The events took place at the Bereg Stadium. The drills were headed by the commander of the Air Attack Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maj. Gen. Almaz Jumakeev.
