CIS secretary general: With the early conclusion of the Armenia-Azerbaijan ‘Peace treaty’, it will be possible to restore the transport and energy supply corridors
Armenia and Azerbaijan are interested in concluding a “Peace treaty” as soon as possible, the Azerbaijani service of Sputnik news agency reports.
This is in the interests of the entire CIS, including Armenia and Azerbaijan, CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev believes.
“Russia and Turkey are extremely interested in the stabilization of the situation in the South Caucasus, because it will open up great opportunities. Thus, it will be possible to restore transport and energy supply corridors,” Lebedev said.
According to him, with this regard, there have been many proposals, both from Yerevan and Baku.
“The proposals are reasonable, because they are economically beneficial to all the countries of the region, including Russia and other neighbors of the Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan, for example, Iran, etc.,” the official added.
