Putin: Armenia’s attitude toward the CSTO is driven by domestic political issues and the Artsakh conflict
During a press conference in Astana, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that, in his opinion, Armenia’s current attitude toward the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is driven by domestic political issues and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Putin noted that Armenia has not announced its intention to withdraw from the CSTO and supports all documents adopted during the organization’s summit.
He said the CSTO should not have intervened in Artsakh for Yerevan, as there was no external aggression against Armenia in this case. The Russian president suggested that it is likely that Armenia will return to full participation in the CSTO.
