Poland to take over EU presidency
Starting Jan. 1, 2025, Poland will assume the presidency of the European Union. Over the past six months, Hungary has held this role, with its Prime Minister Viktor Orbán being considered one of Europe’s most pro-Russian political figures.
As the BBC reports, during its EU presidency, Poland’s voice will be heard as loudly as ever, and supporting Ukraine will remain its top priority.
The Polish government will continue to do its best to ensure Moscow halts its large-scale invasion, and the EU provides as much military and financial support to Kyiv as possible.
Poland also aims to strengthen economic pressure on Russia.
