Iranian Foreign Ministry: Security of the South Caucasus and the 3+3 format are important for Iran
Ismail Baghaei, Spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, announced at a press conference that the recent visits of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Akbar Ahmadian to Armenia and Azerbaijan were pre-planned. “Iran considers its relations with both Azerbaijan and Armenia to be important. The security of the South Caucasus is crucial for us, and we will utilize all opportunities to strengthen it in this vital region. Security should be ensured by the countries of the region, free from external interference,” Baghaei noted.
According to him, the purpose of this visit was to strengthen relations and discussions with these two countries, ensuring that previous processes aimed at maintaining and reinforcing peace in the region, including the 3+3 format, will continue. Baghaei said Iran is ready to support this process with all available capabilities.
