Syria’s foreign minister to visit Turkey after 14-year break
Syria’s newly appointed Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shaybani will travel to Turkey on Jan. 15. Al-Shaybani announced his visit in a Turkish-language post on social media.
“To present the new Syria, tomorrow we will make our first official visit to the Republic of Turkey, a country that has never abandoned the people of Syria for 14 years,” the Syrian foreign minister said.
As part of the visit, al-Shaybani and the members of the delegation will meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler and Turkish National Intelligence Organization Director İbrahim Kalın.
