Iranian and Azerbaijani top officials discuss recent developments in South Caucasus region

Ali Akbar Ahmadian, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, met with Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev.

The parties discussed the development of all aspects of bilateral relations and the recent events in the South Caucasus region.

Earlier, in a meeting held in Tehran, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev talked about strengthening bilateral relations in the economic sector.

Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan and that of expanding mutual ties. Mustafayev, in turn, highlighted Iran’s significance in ensuring peace and stability in the region.

To remind, Mustafayev is in Tehran to attend the 16th meeting of the Joint Economic Commission between Azerbaijan and Iran.
