Kremlin seeks explanation of Vance’s remarks on deploying US troops in Ukraine

Russia expects clarification from U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance regarding his statement that Washington does not rule out sending U.S. troops to Ukraine if negotiations fail, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

“These are new elements of position that have not been expressed before, so of course, we expect further clarifications,” Peskov noted.

Earlier, we indicated that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance had threatened to send troops to Ukraine and impose new sanctions on Russia if negotiations failed.
