Resolution of ‘Zangezur corridor’ issue is near, Russian political scientist says
In a conversation with Tsargrad, political scientist Andrey Pinchuk clarified what goal the Armenian media is pursuing when saying that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has decided to return to the “embrace of Russia” like the prodigal son.
According to media reports, the Armenian prime minister previously instructed state agencies to restore inter-agency cooperation with Russian partners and actively participate in joint events.
Pinchuk stated that this is being done to facilitate the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and, more importantly, for the opening of the “Zangezur corridor”. The expert noted that some alternative options for this corridor are currently being developed; however, in the modern world, the issue of global logistics, along with energy, is one of the main factors on which political decisions are made. Pinchuk clarified that all zones of instability surrounding Armenia and Azerbaijan are built around these two issues: the supply of energy resources and the “Zangezur corridor”. According to the expert, a resolution to this issue is close.
