Vahe Hovhannisyan: Stop playing into the Yerevan-Baku hands that aim at disintegrating Artsakh from within

Vahe Hovhannisyan: Stop playing into the Yerevan-Baku hands that aim at disintegrating Artsakh from within

We could not possibly imagine that on the 33rd anniversary
of the Declaration of Independence, we would face the threat of losing Artsakh,
that of losing the RA statehood, or that we would confront the reality that our
society is hereafter divided. Coordinator of “Alternative Projects” group Vahe
Hovhannisyan wrote this in his article.

“At this critical moment, no leading figures serving
national interests step to the fore. Thus, feelings of gloom and despondency
reign everywhere. This is a population consisting of millions of individuals,
holding different values. And some parts of this population still continue to
live here. And this is not done by the hands of the Turks. We are to blame for
this. The architect of this reality is the Armenian nation, who never realized
the importance of the state, who failed to put the brakes on,”
Hovhannisyan wrote.

He mentioned the problems that must be solved right away.

“Avert the internal chaos breaking out in Artsakh.
Avert the dissolution of state agencies. Stop stirring up trouble within the
country and exclude the possibility of any process guided from Yerevan or
abroad. Artsakh must be governed from within. There are respected figures in
Artsakh, and they must make every effort to put the brakes on the creeping
disintegration of Artsakh. There are other prominent figures outside Artsakh,
who should work toward this goal as well. This is our request and demand. We
should talk to each other. We should talk to people who do not realize that
they can appear to be playing into the Yerevan-Baku hands, that aim at
disintegrating Artsakh from within. If we fail to take action now, and let
either chaos break out in Artsakh or juntas take the upper hand over the
situation, everything will be lost. It is only by protecting state agencies,
working toward solutions together and by good government that Artsakh will
survive,” he wrote.

Vahe Hovhannisyan called on everyone to launch a mass public
movement in Armenia, which will differ from previous ones with its message.

“We have every resource at our disposal to put the
brakes on the imminent disaster. We merely have to act properly,” he
wrote.
