Pashinyan has phone call with Putin

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the PM’s spokesperson has said.

According to the official statement, the prime minister updated the Russian president on the results of the Aug. 8 talks in Washington, including the pre-signing of the “Agreement on Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the joint appeal to the OSCE regarding the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group mechanisms, the unblocking of regional communications based on the principles of territorial integrity, sovereignty, jurisdiction, and reciprocity, as well as the the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity initiative.

President Putin expressed readiness to facilitate the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.

Putin also briefed Pashinyan on the key outcomes of his talks with Witkoff and the preparatory work for the meeting with Trump in Alaska, TASS reports.

The parties also addressed several issues on the bilateral agenda, emphasizing further development of trade, investment cooperation, and interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
