Georgia PM rejects claims that country’s transit role is weakening amid Armenia–Azerbaijan normalization
Cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor has increased sevenfold over the past five years, Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze said during a live broadcast on Imedi LIVE.
He also stated that claims suggesting a weakening of Georgia’s transit capacities are groundless and do not reflect reality.
“We welcome the restoration of relations between our neighbors and the development of trade and economic ties between them. As for our transit function, we are making significant investments in its development. These include road infrastructure, ports, airports, and various other infrastructure facilities. This is based on positive expectations of continued growth in transit transport,” Kobakhidze said.
