These authorities are not what our people deserve. Our people need to be decisive and take a historic step: change of power. And why not, this may also be done through the street? Member of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia Artak Zakaryan said this to ABC media.
“Nikol’s administration was re-elected in 2021. As a result, we have lost Artsakh, some territories of the Republic of Armenia have been occupied, Armenia is left without close allies, international support, without prospects or a vision for development. This is not what our people deserve,” Zakaryan said.
As he noted, the Opposition has tried three times to achieve a change of power, but has failed. People entertained hopes that the change of power in 2018 would be good for Armenia. However, this ended in nothing but failure.
“Now people worry: what if we make a mistake again? The Opposition has proved in the past five years that it is telling absolute truths in terms of state interests, security, global development issues and visions of the future. And what they are talking about the future today is not baseless statements; their words are backed by clear facts, analyses and wide experience in politics, which cannot be said about this KP members,” Zakaryan said.
According to him, there is no need to be afraid of the change of power, as that is the main way to solve the problems facing our country. Before making a change of power, however, people need to rely on the forces that have proven their commitment to the national interests of Armenia.
“Weren’t there problems that were unacceptable? Yes, there were. Weren’t there mistakes, yes, there were, but they did not cost us lives, homeland, property or honor. Now, I think, having lost what was most precious to us, it is not reasonable to keep looking for mistakes in inconsequential matters,” Zakaryan concluded.
