The issue of withdrawing the Russian military base from Armenia is not being considered. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said this in an interview to RIA Novosti.
“I go by the official statements of the Armenian side, particularly the one that the withdrawal of the base is not being considered; such signals have not come from the Russian side either,” the ambassador said, in response to the question whether there have been any signals from Yerevan to close the Russian military base in Gyumri and withdraw the Russian border guards from Armenia.
