Abraham Gasparyan: The reason for waging a war is not the Armenian Constitution; for Azerbaijan, the problem is the Armenian identity
Comparing the RA Declaration of Independence with those of a number of other peoples and countries, we can describe it as a legal and political document of a politically mature nation. Director of Genesis Armenia Think Tank and Foundation, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Abraham Gasparyan said this during a discussion dedicated to the Declaration of Independence.
“‘The Book of Genesis’ of a nation having a political purpose”: This is how Gasparyan described the RA Declaration of Independence.
“The reason why Azerbaijan wages a war is not the Armenian Constitution, as usually in politics it is the elites that create narratives, and the world positions itself based on the theses you present. In general, for Azerbaijan, the problem is the Armenian identity. Azerbaijan speaks about the equality of nations; here a question arises: what was the basis for the declaration of the state of Azerbaijan, if we do not take into account the events in the League of Nations or the processes that took place in the 1916-1917,” Gasparyan concluded.
