Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State Matthew Miller refused to comment on the U.S. ambassador’s visit to Artsakh. The journalist was also interested in what expectations there are from the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers to be held in Kazakhstan. In this regard, Miller said, “I don’t have any comment on that or any expectations.”
To remind, on May 6, 2024, U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby visited Shushi. Earlier, Aybek Smadiyarov, the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan, announced that, pursuant to previously reached agreements, negotiations between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan would be held in Almaty on May 10, 2024.
